John is a Native of Northern Wisconsin, having grown up in Ashland. He and his wife Mary have owned a cabin in Iron River since 1981, and they have lived there since 1990. They are still not considered natives by the locals, but are getting close.
John has been a business man his whole life, having retired from the largest Utility in Northern Wisconsin in 2001. He has owned a successful retail store, started a recycling Industry, was issued a patent and understands that all successful transactions depend on contacts.

Way back in the Fall of 1977, I arrived in Ashland, WI, from the Chicago suburbs, to begin my freshman year at Northland College. Little did I know then that I would never go back to the big city! More than 40 years later, I am still living in the Northwoods.
My wife Wendy and I have been fortunate to be able to raise our three children – Kate, Andrew and Lindsay at our home on Iron Lake in Iron River, WI. This year our youngest child graduated from UW Superior, and I retired from the Bayfield County Zoning Department after 15 years of service. Now I have decided to resume my career in real estate and to also offer Zoning Consultant Services. Prior to taking the position as the Assistant Zoning Administrator for Bayfield County, I was a real estate agent in Hayward, WI, with Coldwell Banker-Frontier Realty.
Being an avid outdoorsman, the fishing and hunting opportunities Bayfield County offers made it an easy choice to make the North my home. If I am not fishing walleyes on Chequamegon Bay or bow hunting in the National Forest, I am probably golfing on one of the many courses in the area – especially since the Up North motto is: “You can always mow the lawn tomorrow.”
